They have pre-existing templates that you can fill out on the hypothesis and analytical strategy
this in new but Nature journall all allow now for registered reports Registered Reports | Nature

some journals also do pre-registered reports so they review you intro & methods and then guarantee to publish your paper regardless of significance of results

This is a great option - but this involves peer review of the registered analysis plan and, if approved, essentially implies “accepted in principle” regardless of the results. Excellent if your plan passes this peer review before you run the analyses!
