If you have a genetic correlation between two traits (let’s say 0.9) that have a strong correlation from LDSC regression - is it possible and worth doing functional annotation of these traits to see if they differ biologically slightly or would the strong correlation indicate they will likely be almost the same functionally as well.

As the genetic correlation gets larger, the potential for distinction diminishes, as you intuit. That being said, strong genetic correlations can still allow for some differences
